We started PGH Candle in 2016 because we couldn’t find candles we actually wanted to burn- candles that smell good, look good, and, when purchased, do not burn a hole in your wallet. So we dared to do something different and started making our own candles. Small batches, soy wax, real fragrance oils - all poured by hand in Pittsburgh.

Nine years later, we have got two shops. One original spot that is in the Northside - a little storefront with a lot of candles, plus gift cards and plants from other local makers. Then there’s The Studio, our Downtown location, where you can actually make your own candle - pick a vessel, pick a scent, and leave with something you have built yourself entirely. Walk-ins welcome, but look if you can.

Honestly, we just like making things that make people’s homes feel better; that is it. No big mission statement, no five-step brand philosophy; we are in it just for good candles made by people who understand the power of good candles.
