That point of view is pretty straightforward - source well, roast small, and never put your name on something you wouldn't be proud to hand someone. Every coffee we carry, whether it's a trusted everyday blend or a single-origin worth slowing down for, goes through the same filter: is this something people will come back for? That question drives everything.
We roast in small batches out of Lucedale, Mississippi, using a San Franciscan 25 drum roaster. We use it not because it's the fastest way to scale, but because it's the right way to stay honest about quality. Control matters. Freshness matters. The difference shows up in the cup.
Specialty coffee has spent a long time making people feel like they need a degree to enjoy it. We've never bought into that. From the retailer stocking their shelves to the café pulling their first pour-over to the gift shop looking for something worth gifting - the experience should feel good at every level. Approachable on the surface, serious where it counts.
