Unlike other businesses, which originate in boardrooms, Furniture Footies started in a classroom. Elementary school teacher Margaret Johnson was fed up with the sloppy screeching desk and scuffed floors, and one-size-fits-none felt pads that would fall off within a week.

So in 2009, she made her own. What began as a fix for one noisy classroom has grown into a woman-owned business trusted by teachers, custodians, homeowners, and everyone who’s ever winced at the sound of a chair dragging across tile.

Each footie is constructed around a thick, natural rubber center (not a synthetic filler that cracks and crumbles), covered with a durable polyester material, and is precision-cut to fit unassisted on legs with no tools, glue, or profanity.
